Bagpipes

The Pipe Major and Pipe Sergeant are currently the main teachers of Great Highland Bagpipe, Scottish bagpipes.
The lessons are usually individual and have weekly. The cost is 20 € / hour.
The lessons are structured in three parts: a part of music theory, a part of the study on the Practice Chanter (a kind of flute on which study the fingering of bagpipes) and further a part of study directly on bagpipes real.

The purchase of a bagpipe is a delicate button. You should exercise extreme caution: if you do not know the seller or the manufacturer of the musical instrument, you are likely to buy useless and non-functioning instruments. An average instrument costs between € 1,000 and € 1,500, no less (unless they are instruments used, but in that case should be done further attention by controlling the instrument for wear).
For this reason we urge you to be cautious and rely on our advice and contacts.

In addition to our teachers, it can also be followed once a month by the piper teacher Alberto Massi. In 2003, Alberto received his “Graduate Certificate” and “Teacher Certificate”, official diplomas issued by the Institute of Piping. Winner in March 2003 of ‘Archie Kenneth Memorial Quaich, the most important event in the world of classical music for Scottish bagpipes.

Currently she holds teaching courses in Rome, Bergamo, Novara, Bazzano (Bo) and Grottammare (Ap).

Drums

The Drum Sergeant deals with individual lessons in Scottish drum.
As with the Scottish bagpipes, the price is 20 € / hour.

The Drum Corp, the drum section consists of:
Snare Drums: Snare drums marching, with a powerful sound, sharp and penetrating. Similar to the snares of Americans march, are played with a very particular style that requires study and dedication. They are the “drum major”, with scores (parts) that specifically.
Tenor Drums: tenor drums, similar to those present in the drum set. They do not produce a powerful sound, but are key to add the sound to the ensemble characteristics of bandwidth. Typical content of the drum are the choreographic movements made between a shot and the other (the so-called “flourish”), with the mallet, typical chopsticks “on wheals” created to have aerodynamic and control.
Bass Drum: bass drum. The heart of the whole gang button, is the pillar on which rests the entire ensemble, essential to have a precise and determined sounds.

Unlike the bagpipes, as regards the drums the study is performed on both the drum pad (stand rubber to study the rudiments) than on real drum, to start from the beginning to be familiar with the sound and the particular structure of instruments.
The band has a set of drums, available to gang members and students (with the authorization of the Drum Sergeant). Unlike the bagpipes, which is a purely personal tool, you can therefore use the properties of the band material.

The Scottish bagpipes and drum lessons, unless otherwise noted teachers, take place in our head office in Via Frangipane, 40 (M Colosseum), where there are also the dress rehearsal band every Tuesday from 19:30.
